Known only from the Diablo Range in the southeast, at two locations: Parkfield Grade, and Hwy 198 just over the ridge west of Priest Valley. Between these locations private property access is difficult, but there are likely other colonies in that range.

Survey Results
mid-May, 2022: no skippers, extreme drought
mid-May 2023: no skippers; nectar available after heavy winter rains, but this colony may be in trouble after years of drought
Recommended sites
Parkfield Grade: drive the grade slowly from the beginning of the dirt road, to the ridge, and carefully search flowering thistle; if not successful, on the way back down, walk into the grasslands and explore where accessible
